Install

$ curl -fsSL https://dl.medit.software/install.sh | bash

One self-contained binary — no Node required to run medit itself. Re-run anytime to upgrade (medit also prompts you when a new version ships).

Quick start

  1. cd into your React app — or scaffold one with medit --create-new-canvas.
  2. Add an API key to .env: MEDIT_OPENAI_API_KEY=sk-... (Anthropic / OpenRouter / a coding CLI also work).
  3. Run medit --dev and open your app — the medit overlay appears bottom-right.
